I am a doctoral researcher currently affiliated with the University of Pisa and pursuing my PhD at the University of Florence under the Pegaso Scholarship (Regione Toscana). My academic and professional background is grounded in agricultural economics, agribusiness and marketing, and rural development. I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Agribusiness from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in Bangladesh, as well as a second Master’s degree in Rural Development from Ghent University, Belgium, where I graduated with the highest academic distinction (summa cum laude) in 2025 under the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree (EMJMD) scholarship.
My second master’s thesis, conducted at the University of Pisa as part of the EU-funded NOVASOIL project, employed a discrete choice experiment to investigate consumer preferences and willingness to pay for food products produced using sustainable soil health practices in Italy. Since joining PAGE in November 2025, my research has focused on agri-food systems, environmental sustainability, consumer behavior, and sustainability transitions, with particular attention to how market structures, policies, and preferences shape outcomes across value chains.
In addition to my academic training, I have been serving as a faculty member in Agribusiness and Marketing at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University since 2019. Prior to entering academia, I gained over four years of professional experience as a manager in the Agriculture Finance Department at BRAC Bank PLC, one of the leading commercial banks in Bangladesh.
