I work as a research technologist at the Department of Agricultural, Food and Agro-environmental Sciences (University of Pisa), where I graduated. I am an affiliated researcher at the CISP (Interdisciplinary Centre “Sciences for Peace”, University of Pisa).
My professional career began in 1996, 29 years ago, and has developed through collaborations with public bodies and private companies (among others: ENEL, Bioelettrica SpA, STA Engineering srl, Ambiente Italia Research Institute, Fondazione Toscana Sostenibile, Tuscany Region, Tuscany Regional Agency for Environmental Protection, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna – Institute of Life Sciences, Timesis srl, IRTA Leonardo – Research Institute on Territory and Environment, University of Pisa).
My activity has always been focused on environmental sustainability and protection and conservation of landscapes and nature: topics I have addressed through environmental analysis, environmental assessment of plans, programs, and projects, consultancy for the European Commission, and the development and management of demonstration and research projects, particularly focused on agriculture, rural development, biodiversity, and land planning. In these fields, I have also contributed to participatory processes and carried out territorial analyses, including the design and implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
